Rhode Island Factoid:
The relationship between the New Englanders and the Native Americans was strained, and caused some bloodshed. On December 19, 1675, colonist militia from Connecticut, Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, and Rhode Island massacred about 350 Narragansetts in the Battle of the Great Swamp during King Philip's War. The largest tribes that lived near Rhode Island were the Wampanoag, Pequots, Narragansett, and Nipmuck. One native named Squanto, from the Wampanoag tribe, stayed with the Pilgrims and taught them many valuable skills needed to survive in the area. He also helped greatly with the eventual peace between the colonists and the natives.  Rhode Island Belly Dancers

  • New Belt is finished!
    • Yay, it's done!!! How excited I am that I finished my coin shell belt for my costume, some of you may remember my coin bra, this belt is to go with that coin bra! Now I just need to make the Harem pants, the choli, and I'm done! Yay for the hard stuff being done! Here's some pictures These were all taken with my phone, so they're crappy. I even bought a new camera just so I could take pictures, and my computer won't talk to it! How crappy is that! Anyway, sorry about the quality, my phone takes crappy pictures. Here's another oneand lastly, this picture doesn't do the front justice, it's made out of silk that is grape and red so that when you turn it it changes from grape or red. It's awesome! Too bad it didn't come out well in the picture. Anyway, sorry for the close up of my blinding white belly....What an aweful lot of work! And I'll post better pictures of the details when the whole costume is finished!
