Louisville Factoid:
The West Main District in downtown Louisville features what is locally known as "Museum Row". In this area, the Frazier International History Museum, which opened in 2004, features a collection of arms, armor and related historical artifacts spanning 1,000 years, concentrating on U.S. and UK arms. The building features three stories of exhibits, two reenactment arenas, a 120-seat auditorium, and a 48-seat movie theater. Also nearby is the Louisville Science Center, which is Kentucky's largest hands-on science center and features interactive exhibits, IMAX films, educational programs and technology networks. The Muhammad Ali Center opened November 2005 in "Museum Row" and features Louisville native Muhammad Ali's boxing memorabilia, as well as information on the core themes that he has taken to heart: peace, social responsibility, respect and personal growth.  Louisville Belly Dancers

Belly Dancers News and Information
  • Why today?
    • We had a show on Saturday that required some creative thinking and a whole lot of luck in order to actually have music to dance to. Rehearsal yesterday left me sweaty, smelly, and with bruised soles. Today, it’s time to act as interim dance instructor again. I really don’t mind [...]
  • Beadspinners, beads and Glass Fringe?
    • Yes it's me again...I'm thinking of making some glass fringe again and I've been looking for tools to make it a bit less time consuming, I'm particularly interested in beadspinners.Okay, questions:- does anyone have a beadspinner (http://www.beadspinner.net) or an equivalent device? Do they make making beaded fringe any easier? Do they make it harder in any way? They seem useful for beading long amounts, but if I were making equal lengths - say 3"/4" - wide are they going to make making my own fringe any easier given i'd have to measure every strand? I have made my own fringe before using only a frame, needle and waxed thread - never again! It took forever!!!-Seed beads or bugle beads, which do you prefer? I like how fluid bugle beads look and the flat, reflective surfaces they have. I've yet to see fringe made from rounded seed beads although I know they do exist. Unfortunately the bead spinner is only compatable with seed beads. Is there any difference? I'd be using glass beads anyway.TIA!
