Cape Cod Factoid:
Cape Cod was among the first places settled by Europeans in North America. Aside from Barnstable the Cape's fifteen towns developed slowly. The final town to be established on the Cape was Mashpee in 1880. Provincetown was a group of huts until the 18th century. A channel from Massachusetts Bay to Buzzards Bay is shown on Southack's map of 1717, but the present Cape Cod Canal had a troubled development from 1870 to 1914. The Federal government purchased it in 1928.  Cape Cod Bands

Bands News and Information
  • Wild Child, Brave Journey of Just a Girl
    • June 29, 2006 - Like all forms of music, folk and country are inundated with an overflow of artists. This is just as true for indie and alt versions of these styles as it is for the commercial forms. The egalitarian, do-it-yourself philosophy that punk rock and the internet has championed has had the unintended consequence of allowing the talentless, the mediocre, and the downright delusional, to add to the cultural noise.
  • Marilyn Scott-Innocent Of Nothing
    • June 30, 2006--How many true jazz divas are left? I would be willing to bet you can count them on one hand. So what kind of new talent is around now that is getting in position to follow in the footsteps of all the greats? You probably could not count them on one hand. I have not heard any recent major label acts that qualify, where I am hearing all of the hopefuls coming from are the independent realm.
  • DJ Monkey Release More Than A Musical Statement With 3RD World War
    • Los Angeles, California--July 3, 2006--DJ Monkey will release their new album 3rd World War on July 7. The fact that its release coincides with Independence Day is significant.
