Waterbury Factoid:
The Waterbury Clock Company buildings on Cherry Ave. were constructed in 1857. By the end of the 19th century, the company employed 3,000 workers and turned out 20,000 clocks and watches a day. The Great Depression sent the Waterbury Clock Co. into receivership, and the company was eventually sold to the United States Time Corp. in 1942. Manufacturing operations here ceased when production was moved to a new factory in Middlebury CT, and the buildings now house several small businesses.  Waterbury Horse and Carriage
