Delaware Factoid:
At the end of the colonial period, the number of enslaved people in Delaware began to decline. Shifts in the agriculture economy from tobacco to mixed farming created less need for slaves' labor. Local Methodists and Quakers encouraged slaveholders to free their slaves following the American Revolution, and many did so in a surge of individual manumissions for idealistic reasons. Three-quarters of all blacks were free by 1810. When John Dickinson freed his slaves in 1777, he was Delaware's largest slave owner with 37 slaves. By 1860 the largest slaveholder owned only 16 slaves.  Delaware Chocolate Fountain Rentals

  • Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding
    • The hawaiian bread used in this recipe makes this one a keeper! You can drizzle a rum toffee sauce over it or a chocolate sauce over it right before serving. I prefer the chocolate sauce. I posted the recipes for both great sauces. I hope you enjoy this recipe. -- posted by Cooking in Missouri
  • Oreo Truffles
    • Got this recipe from my niece...not sure where she got it from, but they so good and easy to make....with only three ingredients. I've made them several times, especially around Christmas, and everyone just loved them. I never bring any home. -- posted by Ms. Chef
  • Rocky Road
    • This is my most requested thing I make, Everyone just loves it! I make it using marshmallow i make myself and vary it depending on who it is being made for, Its nice with milk chocolate or dark chocolate or even white chocolate and it's nice with plain old peanuts or if it's for someone special I may use macadamia nuts. Either way it's so yum! please try it. This makes 10 large pieces or 30 small squares which fit nicely into mini patty papers. -- posted by dizzydi
